Joseph Banks Secondary College Stage 3

Carried out in a live operating school environment, Stage 3 of the college project centred around the construction of the new Western Australian Space Science Education Centre at the College. 

The state of the art purpose-built facility is designed to provide students with a simulated Mars or lunar surface, specialist facilities to perform space science experiments, as well as technology that provides a mission control experience.

The project scope of works included:

• Siteworks included decommissioning of the existing underground stormwater harvesting system.

• Construction of a new two-storey learning block.

• Upgrades include a new classroom building featuring a purpose-built space centre to provide specialist STEM facilities.

• Associated external works including car parking areas, landscaping works.

• Refurbishment of the existing IT, STEM and jewellery studios.
