Murdoch Bush Court Student Hub

This major refurbishment and repurposing of rundown facilities at the centre of Murdoch University South Street Campus created a new dynamic, flexible and adaptive community space for students to study and engage.

Extensive works were undertaken across several buildings to create the new student hub, which comprised:

• Food and beverage tenancies

• Commercial areas

• Student study and support areas

• New restaurant with commercial kitchen

Other works included a bookshop and separate refurbishment and fitout of the existing tavern, including a new commercial kitchen.

The high-quality fitout allows for future adaptation as the university’s needs change. Internal spaces are linked through extensive hard- and soft-scaped outdoor areas to create winter and summer gardens.

As works were undertaken in a live environment, detailed planning and ongoing communication with multiple stakeholders was key to the project's success.
