The Melvista Aged Care Facility

The Melvista Nedlands is a new high-quality residential aged care home currently under construction in Nedlands.

Planned to accommodate 80 aged care rooms and suites, the residence will be configured to allow flexibility in catering for aged residents with a diverse range of care requirements across the full spectrum - from low care assistance to high care needs. 

With aged care construction being a highly specialised area, EMCO Building understand the intricacies of complex construction and worked collaboratively with Oryx Communities and the wider team during design and development to advance project efficiencies and proactively mitigate future building risks.

Originally designed as a top-down construction project, EMCO design and project managers proposed a traditional style construction that reduced significant structural reinforcing to make the project feasible. The team also identified risks in documentation and modified the detailed design to reduce the project risks.

Throughout the value engineering exercise, we identified close to $3m worth of potential savings for client.
